   Seemed like a great shoe, but the toe box is very shallow (vertical height) and scrunched the toes. Disappointed that it had to be returned.

   I love Mephistos. For me they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. So when I decided to buy a pair of hikers, I chose Mephisto Pitt. I wanted to love these boots, but alas, blisters on the inside of my heels after a short hike gave a different result. I’ll be returning them.

   I purchased both colors of the Pitt boot. That should tell you how much I like these boots. Unless you have really big toes or wear really thick socks there is plenty of for your toes. They are a little stiff at first, but nothing wearing them for a couple of days doesn’t take care of. Very comfortable and should last for many years like all of my other Mephistos have. I always replace the foot pads with my own.

   Just got them. Very happy with my purchase considering I bought them for $172, vs $314 currently priced at. They are casual for city/street walking and should be easy to break them in. They definitely run 1/2 size bigger. I read they ran one size bigger but feel at 1/2 smaller is just right.

   Fit and size was ok. Biggest problem was that they were delivered in a “replacement” shoe box and the shoes themselves looked as if they had been worn–scuffed on nearly all surfaces. It was as if the truck delivering them from the factory had rolled over and the shoes had been sold as seconds. Ordered another pair we’ll see how that goes.

   The materials used are very good quality. The footbed is well constructed and provides sufficient arch support for extended periods on walking and being on your feet. The sizing is about a half size larger in my opinion, the width is more generous than most mediums. All in all I think these shoes were a great price given the current and normal retail pricing. Very happy with my purchase and will continue to look for more styles from Mephisto at great pricing.

    The size conversion is off on these. That may be why they seem to run large. If you look at the european size it is not a conversion to the US size.

    The shoes are a little large. I ordered 10 and 1/2. There more like a 11, I really do like the shoes.

    My third pair of the Pitt boot, so no question I like these shoes.
    This particular pair squeaks when I walk across hard floor or carpet. The squeak is loud enough that many people around me have commented.
    AS a result I rarely wear this pair.
