   At this price point, the sandals had to be perfect. These were just okay in style and comfort. Plus, am I the only one who thinks the buckles look a bit tinny and insubstantial?

   These shoes are super light weight and the blue color is outstanding. I find the buckle a bit tricky to maneuver and after wearing for a full day, one strap pinches my small toe slightly-enough to succumb to bandaid. I also think the footbed is a little hard considering the weight… They also ran small in the toe bed so I had to size up. All to say that given the price they should be perfect and they definitely are not that. I shall keep but kind of disappointed. Hopefully the pinch will lessen over time.

   These run really small like similar Mephistos. I’m a 7.5 = 38 always, but I’ve had to go up to a 39 in these. I decided to return these and keep the Lissandras instead since the wedge was a little higher than Violet. Also, wasn’t crazy about the “Birkenstock” look of these. Violet does have real buckles though not Velcro!

   Fit and size were spot on. Very attractive sandal. It’s a bit difficult to adjust buckle/straps, but overall I’d recommend them.

   I LOVE these sandals! I needed to find really comfortable shoes for an upcoming trip to Cartegena. I’ve been having issues with my feet caused by chemo (nerve damage), so proper support was key. Still, I did not want to compromise on style. With these beautiful shoes, I didn’t have to. I bought the 39 and the 38 because of the comments about running small. I’m true 8 – never a 8.5, never a 7.5 – and then 38s were too small. If you’re a 7.5, the 38 will fit like a dream. For me, the 39s are perfect. Keep an eye out for a pair of 38s in brown with gold buckles, because I’m sending them back. These shoes are a steal, and they are so obviously well made.

   Mephisto has let me down. They used to make the most comfortable shoes available, but Violet has proved that even Mephisto can make a bad shoe. I have a medium width foot. These shoes were not marked narrow, but they are. I could barely get the strap over my foot. Other than the size, they were still beautiful shoes. I’ve purchased many different Mephisto shoes and have never had a problem like this before.

   I just received these yesterday. I ordered a half size up and they fit well. Even though they look like they would be heavy, the sandle is very light in weight. They feel comfortable. My problem with them is that the buckles sound like jingle bells when you walk because metal hits metal. For a shoe at this price point, I shouldn’t have to modify them (I’m thinking that wrapping a pipe cleaner over the metal would probably yield them silent). Or, I’ll return them. Still debating.

    I love these shoes. They are just beautiful; fine for jeans or dress up.
